Food and Beverage Server Job Description

Multi-functional positions requiring the ability to plan and manage work in a routine and defined context. Take orders from and serve food and beverages to guests. Should be able to work in various positions including: cashier, server, prep person, waitress, cook, bartender, doorperson and runner.

Duties:

  • Implement all ServSafe training and food safety training provided.
  • Take and relay food and beverage orders.
  • Serve food and beverage to guests using proper serving techniques.
  • Ensure food presentation is optimal.
  • Check on guest satisfaction
  • Provide food and beverage knowledge
  • Listen to customers and redirect to manager when required.
  • Practice responsible alcohol service for personnel working in these areas.
  • Cashiers – operate point of sale system; cash out and reconcile drawer.

Job Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Cash handling experience is an asset
  • Time management skills
  • Proficient in the English language
  • Willingness to learn and acquire new skills and knowledge
  • Awareness and demonstration of customer service standards applicable to the work area, including using initiative and problem solving.
  • Understand the need for continuous improvement in the business and adapt to change in workplace practices.
  • Ability to perform general calculations and measurements
